Nintendo Switch Releases
This collection of seven classic Marvel and Capcom fighting games will be available digitally through the Nintendo eShop on September 12, with physical copies releasing November 22.
In Funko Fusion, you'll play as 60 different Funko Pop! figures you collect from 20 fan favorite franchises, including Jurassic Park, Five Nights at Freddy's, Invincible, Back to the Future, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, and The Walking Dead. It's a crossover adventure of extremely cute proportions!
You take on the role of Jot, a storybook hero, to traverse a mix of 2D and 3D challenges in some pretty darn beautiful environments. For any Switch players who love platforming and puzzles, this indie game should definitely be one to look out for.
Answering the big question: the newest addition to EA’s FC series (FIFA’s successor) features Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham on the cover. It also introduces 5v5 Rush mode, bringing an option for shorter matches in online play. In our review of FC 24 on Switch, we noted that the game struggled on the handheld compared to other consoles, so hopefully we see a better port for the classic soccer (excuse me, football) game this year.
Epic Mickey: Rebrushed is a faithful remake of the original Wii title courtesy of Purple Lamp Studios. The plot remains the same, with Mickey teaming up with Oswald the Lucky Rabbit to restore Wasteland to its former glory with the very tools he used to mess up Yen Sid's creation in his workshop — paint and thinner.
For the first time in the LoZ franchise's history, Princess Zelda is the star of the show. In The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, the Princess is tasked with rescuing Link and the kingdom of Hyrule from strange rifts. The new Zelda game introduces new abilities, as the Princess uses a Tri Rod to create "echoes" of objects in her environment to overcome obstacles. Based on what we saw in our preview of Echoes of Wisdom, Zelda can even create echoes of enemies she fights and forcibly recruit them to her team. This will be the eighth Legend of Zelda game on Nintendo Switch since its launch.
Finally, the real Star of SpongeBob gets his chance to shine. The Patrick Star Game will feature plenty of characters from the iconic cartoon while giving players the opportunity to treat Bikini Bottom like the sandbox it was always meant to be.
Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time is the long-awaited sequel to the original RPG-style life-sim game that released on Nintendo 3DS in 2014. In addition to working any job you want – from woodcutter, blacksmith, paladin, cook, and more – each with its own set of quests, you’ll get to build your own city on an abandoned island, travel through time, and meet new characters with some mysteries of their own. Nintendo has been off and on about when this game is set to release. Hoping for the end of October, but it isn't looking likely.
Explore the lush environments of Europa, Jupiter's moon, in this indie adventure game coming to Switch in October.
From the creators of 2018's Gris comes a stunning new platformer with another moving narrative at its core.
Super Mario Party Jamboree is the third Mario Party game to come to the Switch following Mario Party Superstars and Super Mario Party. At a large island resort, you'll be able to play over 110 minigames across five new game boards with different "environmental" hazards.
This big release from SEGA is a bundle of two Sonic games for the Switch: a remaster of 2011’s Sonic Generations as well as an all-new platformer, Shadow Generations. Well, sort of all new. Because it’s a Generations game, we’ll get to see “remastered” versions of stages and abilities from some old-school favorites, including Sonic Adventure 2 and Sonic Heroes.
Sandbox dating simulator is coming to Switch in late October.
Yakuza Kiwami, a remake of the first Yakuza, released on PC in 2019 and is finally coming to Switch in 2024. And in case you didn't already know, this Yakuza game is dropping on the same day as the Like a Dragon: Yakuza show.
After 31 years of Japanese exclusivity, Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven is getting a full-blown remake treatment in the West, English voice acting, enhanced graphics and all. You play as an emperor or empress of Avalon, building the kingdom and protecting as you fight the seven heroes who have returned as villains hellbent on revenge on those who have forgotten their sacrifices.
This pixel horror game became a cult classic (in all senses of the word) when it released on PC back in 2022. This October, just in time for Halloween, FAITH: The Unholy Trinity is launching on the Nintendo Switch.
From the creator of Fairy Tale and Rave Master comes Farmigia, a game about monster combat and farming. In the realm of Felicidad, you play as Ten and help him grow monsters in a garden and raise them as an army to fight against a despotic king of the underworld.
Mario & Luigi: Brothership is the first entry in the Mario & Luigi series to make the jump to the Switch with 3D graphics and a unique animation style. This game will see the Super Mario Bros. go island-hopping across Concordia on a part ship, part island called Shipshape Island, visiting rainforests, cities, and running into other characters from the Mushroom Kingdom, including Princess Peach and Bowser.
Announced in 2021, Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake has finally been confirmed for the Switch to the delight of Dragon Quest fans. Developed with the gameplay styles of Octopath Traveler and Triangle Strategy, Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D takes you back to where the franchise began as you save the world from the evil Baramos. Chronologically speaking, this is the first game of the Erdrick Trilogy, with Dragon Quest 1-2 HD 2D Remake coming out in 2025.
